Hey guys... welcome back...to my next post... this is the first time i am writing abt my trip experiences... rather tough trek experience... :) .. happy to inform you guys that m part of Chennai Trekking Club (CTC) now.. :) so... looking forward for some great treks with this group..... This trek was planned as part of Shivarathri by my cousin who is a professional trekker.. his name is Aravind who lives in Chennai... Velliangiri is situated in Poondi around 1hr journey from Coimbatore.. its a shiva temple.. and there are 7 hills to climb... to reach the hill top where you will find a suyambu lingam (Naturally formed lingam)... so my cousin and his team of trekkers planned to arrive to coimbatore on friday 12th afternoon.... and I left bangalore on thursday night and reached coimbatore on friday 12th morning and waited for my cousin to arrive.... and we all had lunch... and left coimbatore at around 5:30 PM.. and reached Poondi only by 8:15 PM.. bec of heavy rush in all the buses...
We started the trek at 8:30 PM... with each of us having one bamboo stick and a torch as it was a night trek... since without the sticks you cannot cross all the 7 hills... we were 9 of us...our first target was to cross the 1500 steps of the 1st hill.. and then take rest.. to have our dinner...we took around 5 to 7 breaks in between the 1st 1500 steps... and finally completed the 1st hill... and we sat down for dinner...and lime soda... :) we finished by 10 PM.. and continued our trek... there were another 2500 steps for the 2nd and 3rd hill to complete... we started off very nicely after the dinner... and crossed 2500 steps... with around 10 breaks.. :) .. then the hills became steeper... we had to cross for abt and hr...to reach the 5th hill... then we came across a coffee shop.... we had sukhu kapi (coffee with ginger)... and there was this naturally formed water area... where few of my friends took bath...the water was ice cold.. :) .. by this time.. few of our torch's battery had drained.. :) we managed to trek in groups... and we reached the 6th hill... this is where we cud see the clouds... it was awesome.. and the climate was very very cold.. mist all over... 7th hill was amazing.. bec it was steep like a vertical ladder... we had all our energy drained by this time... we reached the 7th hill at around 3 AM... it normally takes 4 hrs for a professional trekker to cross all 7 hills... we took 6 1/2 hrs.. :) we reached the top... had a good darshan of Lord Shiva... it was amazing to be above the clouds....and we wanted to watch the sunrise... and i guess the temperature was 0 degrees at the top... our hair and legs were covered with ice crystals... it was mist all over... somehow we waited in the 7th hill..from 3 AM till 7:00 for the sunrise.. :) finally we had a very beautiful view... of the sunrise... and started to come down... getting down was comparatively easy... we reached the bottom of the hill by 11:30 AM... it took us around 4 hrs.. :) it was a life time experience... i enjoyed to the core...
Things we carried/essential things to carry:
1) Torch light and extra batteries - since it was a night trek
2) Eatables (we carried chappathi's and gravy) - bec u dont get anything up in the hill.. except sukhu kapi (coffee with ginger) and lemon soda
3) 1 towel - because there is a naturally formed water area (sonai) where we took bath..
4) Shawl/jerkins - because its too cold up there in the 7th hill... :)
5) 1 bamboo stick - you can buy this at the bottom for Rs.15/-
6) Shoes/floaters - You need to have this in a carry bag, and walk with barefoot till the 1st hill is complete, then later on you can wear your shoes.. trust me.. the amount of time will reduce gradually if you wear shoes..
7) Carry some cash... for coffee and lemon soda
8) Water bottles
9) Bag to carry all the above stuffs :)
Objective: To complete the trek all the way upto 7th hill and watch the sunrise and get down
Status: Completed with great difficulty :)
Experience: Life time experience
Difficulty level: Tough
The trek will test your self confidence... its a must go trek for all trekkers... :)

Mind...
"There is nothing noble about being superior to some other person... True nobility lies in being superior to one's former self" with this note... I m writing my next post which is in continuation with my previous one... or infact on the same lines as the previous one ... :-)... When i started writing blog.. the base which I had chosen was Humour... but now it might look spirtual... :D but actually it isn't... Its just I m writing about what i like the best. ..
If i ask you to draw a picture of a human... I bet you all would.... But what if I ask you to draw a picture of a MIND... what would you draw...?????
Mind is one of the greatest gift of the nature... there has been so many research to find out how the human mind works... but so far no concrete results... Scientists are spellbound by the way our mind works....
An average human mind can run through 60,000 thoughts per day.... and the startling thing is .. out of these 60,000... 95% of the thoughts are the day before's thoughts... So... if you were thinking about something good.... today.. u r likely to continue thinking the same tomo..... So this is where Meditation helps... If you do meditation daily for about 20 minutes... you are concentrating on one particular thing...for 20 minutes... so your 60,000 thoughts.. turn to be 55,000 thoughts... and the remaining 5,000 thoughts are simplified to one thought... and the thought is a positive one... ;-) ... i hope it makes sense...
Most people don't realize the enormous power of the human mind.... its just beautiful ... Human mind is like a beautiful garden.. filled with fragrance of beautiful flowers... green grasses...
Now imagine the garden is yours... Now what if I throw a stale food into the center of your beautiful garden... How would you feel???.. The same happens with human mind.. the garden is the mind.... the stale food is the bad thoughts.... or the negative energy....
"To live life to the fullest, you must stand guard at the gate of your garden and let only the very best information enter. You truly cannot afford the luxury of a negative thought—not even one. The most joyful, dynamic and contented people of this world are no different from you or me in terms of their makeup. We are all flesh and bones. We all come from the same universal source. However, the ones who do more than just exist do different things than those whose lives are ordinary. Foremost amongst the things that they do is adopt a positive paradigm about their world and all that is in it."
The power of human mind is just great... How else could mother's lift an immovable car to save their crying infants who had fallen underneath??????

The SECRET...
I am sure many would not have seen the youtube video on "The secret" or would have read the book "The secret".... I luckily got a chance to see the video yesterday... and its my humble duty to share my knowledge to people whom i know... hence the best way is to write a blog... So here I am writing about a topic.. which is unusual to me as well... First before reading on.. please do have an open mind... Feel free to receive everything... once received.. then you can judge whether you want to take it or not.... but read on with an open mind...
Many great people have known this secret like Plato, Archimedes, Abraham Lincoln, Buddha... etc etc... which they have tried to preach in their own ways...
Even now... there are many who know this secret... and have been living happily.. and successfully....
So what is this Secret...
Its the LAW OF ATTRACTION...
Yes... Law of Attraction.. says that You (Life) is a magnet... you need to attract things which you need... and the "HOW" part is taken care by the nature...
Lets see how this links to our Hindu mythology... You go to temple.. and pray with full faith about your wants... or ur desires... or you pray for people's happiness etc.... its the time you are attracting good things... So you attract good things... and the nature gives back good things...
You all might wonder.. how will this work... as i told you all before.. the HOW part.. is taken care by the nature... the universe....
You see terrorism... diseases... or take the latest news... Delhi Metro Bridge collapse... what to do we do... normally..after reading the news... we start telling or discussing things about this... and attract the negative qualities... Even if you say "Why does all these things happen.... It should not happen.... I dont like this.... " you are still generating or attracting the negative energy.... Instead.. what you can do... or what you should do... is... you need to understand this is how... it is... and move on.... and do ONLY THINGS WHICH MAKE YOU HAPPY... OR MAKE YOU FEEL HAPPY.... People keep talking about things which they dont want.. or dont like.. for a change... talk about what you want... what you like.. what makes you feel happy.... and see the change...
Thoughts are the ones which attract.... so if your thoughts are good... you attract good things... if your thoughts are bad.. you attract bad things.... This is the law of attraction....
Thoughts inturn relates back to energy... everything in this world is energy... From the universe.. to the world... to the country... to the humans.. to the cells.. to the atoms... everything is ENERGY....
Energy and God are similar... If you believe in science.. you will believe Energy... if you believe in spirtualism.. you will believe God...
Some similarities between God and Energy....
1) God is everywhere... Energy is everwhere....
2) God can neither be created nor be destroyed.... Energy can neither be created nor be destoryed...
So if this is the Law of Attraction...how do we implement the Law of Attraction.... here it is:
a) Gratitude
b) Visualize
you need to posses these qualities... to implement the law of attraction.... Gratitude... is to thank.... thank God.. or nature... or soul.. whomever you want... thank for what you posses....
Visualize what you want... your dreams... your targets... your wish.... etc...etc...
In short....
1) Know exactly what you want....
2) Ask the universe for it...
3) Feel... visualize... that you the object you desire is already yours...
4) Be open to let go your thoughts to the nature... so that it attracts.. and brings it back to you...
Try this secret... share it with others if it works for you.... but remember always...to enjoy life... life is abundant... Energy produced by one human being can light up the entire bangalore city for 8 days.... imagine the amount of energy we have... utilize this energy for constructive purpose.. Do what you like... Feel what you like... The nature will give you what you always liked....

"Nanna Bengalooru"
"Bangalore - The Garden city of India" is now "Bengalooru - Silicon city of the world".. Be it Bangalore or Bengalooru... still the place where i grew up is one of the best places in India... very close to my heart...
Initially when i came to this city from Tamil Nadu... I had a sense of not being connected... be it the colour of the people (as i m very dark.. unlike the fair people here...) or the language (Tamil vs Kannada...) etc etc.. but later got used to all these as the city has much more to offer you than what you could possibly think ...
Instant happiness ... thats what Bangalore to me is...
Now or before, whenever a relative walks in to our house.. who is new to Bangalore... the 1st place we would show them is the "Lalbagh"... I would have seen Lal bagh atleast about a 40 times... but even now... can anyone imagine such a beautiful place with lots and lots of green...
If you are a bangalorean.. you probably should have had a glimpse of these sights... atleast once.....
The early morning joggers (early morning to me is 7.30 AM.. and I am sorry if that is not early for you..) in Lal Bagh ... old uncles and aunties walking briskly in the morning to get some fresh air... wonderful sights...
Or be it eating cotton candies and popcorns outside Vidhan Soudha... at around 6:30 PM... with young couples sitting on those steps....
Just as the name tells you... Silicon City of the World... The sight of the "International Tech Park" is just amazing... .. its such a majestic building catering IT services to the rest of the world...
Visit to the ISKCON temple is a beautiful sight... the cleanliness of the temple... the bhajans... the hot hot prasadha's they have to offer.. is just hmmm.... :-).. or paying a visit on Thursdays to the Infant Jesus Church....
Famous DOLBY digital theatres like Urvashi (famous among college goers.. as the ticket cost is.. sorry was pretty economical... ).. Plaza (for english movies... i remember i watched Jurassic Park here... ).. Puttana (i have watched many many Kannada movies here.. :D)... and now its PVR... .
Coming to the hotels... how can one forget MTR ... which is not only famous in Bengalooru... but worldwide... KAMAT Yatrinivas (jolada rotti.. hmmm.. yummy..)... Sukh Sagar and Shanti Sagar (chain of restaurants... )...
How can one forget the shopping experience in M.G.Road... one of the oldest shopping places in bangalore and most crowded (especially by foreigners..)... a walk on M.G.Road at around 7 PM will give you the true spirit of the city...
If you are a student... or were a student... you would not have missed going to the Avenue Road... (guides.... and 2nd hand books.. and returning of old books... etc...etc....flooded with students ... )
Crunch game of India vs Pakistan.. could never be so excited if not in Chinnaswamy Stadium... where Aamir Sohail vs Venkatest Prasad was a dream to watch...
Be it Jayaprakash Nagar (J.P.Nagar) to the Jayanagar.... from the coffee house.. to the coffee days.... from the BMTC's ... to the AC Vajra Volvo's..... from the Forum Mall's.. to the Bannerghatta National Park... Bangalore is a city for joy... city of happiness for the youth..... city of liesure for old people... city for young IT aspirants looking for job.....
its a city for you.....
its a city for me.....
Everyone are welcome.... THAT IS THE REASON THEY ARE BUILDING NEW FLYOVERS... AND METROS.... :-)
